Network Watchman

Goals

The idea behind Network Watchman is to have a single place to monitor device status.

Device Data Graphing

Monitor bandwidth usage of devices (ala MRTG) as well as device type dependent data such as RSSI for wireless APs and SUs. I am using rrdtool, to do the graphing at this time. I'm trying to make the interface general enough that an different tool can be used.

Active Monitoring

Tie the interface into an active monitoring system that will send notices of host and services outages. I chose to tie into Nagios but the API should be generic enough to use other systems.

IP Address Management

Produce charts of available and used IP addresses.
