I have the somewhat dubious honor of administrating a couple of IIS servers. Here are some notes on various problems I've seen.

FrontPage Server Extensions

Q: Why do I get "Unable to read configuration for Microsoft Internet Information Server" when trying to enable FrontPage Extensions for a web site on IIS 6.0?

A: I found the answer in this thread. I had turned off the 'Microsoft SharePoint Administration' web site because I didn't want to have extra stuff running. Apparently, this was a mistake, because, once I turned it back on, I was able to add FrontPage Extensions to sites. I'm sure this is well documented somewhere, but I didn't see it anywhere.
